Garrett GTI 2500 for Relics

Hello!

I am new to TreasureNet and to the hobby in general. I purchased a Garrett GTI 2500 and MineLab Explorer II. So far I am having a good time with the hobby.

However, I was wondering if anyone had some custom settings that they could provide me that work well for hunting relics with the Garrett GTI 2500?

I would think the factory relic mode would be optimal for the 2500. I have one and haven't had a chance to hunt a place suitable for relics yet. The machine has a custom mode but it is not really a programable mode, you can just manipulate the discrimination a bit. I have a 14" coil which is supposed to give you better or deeper penetration to the depths where you might be more likely to find relics. I tried it in some open field hunting and it worked ok but was really heavy and tiring. It upset the balance of the detector and wore my arm out in due time! Try the factory preset relic mode and manipulate your sensitivity a bit then you might want to change your discrimination settings depending on what you are finding or maybe even hunt in the all metal mode? No two sites are exactly the same and you need to be varsatile in how you approach them. My settings may not work for you at all in your site location. JIM
