Ok I'm reposting the Gary cache. I never could get the pics I had to post. Anyway I dug this cache of Gary Knives Saturday. There were 13 of them. Two were not yet in the frame when I took this pic but I was able to get them back from a guy that dug with me today.

About 10 or so feet away I dug 2 hematite grooved axes. It is unclear if they were associated with the blades but I think it is likely.

Those axes have seen some use! Nice finds with the cache, the bone handle puts the tools into perspective.

That is some of the strangest flint. I've chipped a lot of TX flint but never seen that stuff. Heated, it looks like. ?? Does the stuff have a name or is it just "Texas flint"? Gary

That is ogallala chert and it is heat treated. That is the full range of colors in that frame. As a matter if fact two are almost green with yellow stripes and I have never seen exactly that look before. Some really hard stuff to work but it was the rock of choice for east tx Gary culture.

Unreal. Some great colors in there that make the cache even better.

I have never been a Gary fan. I mean ill take em but they never tripped my trigger. This cache makes me giggle though. I'm not sure if they are just knives or if pre forms to be made into finished points later. Anyway they are pretty neat.

Wow, certainly unusual colors! Thanks for sharing!

Man this is what it’s all about...Glad the pics loaded up for us all to enjoy! Thanks again for sharing your treasures

Sure Quinn. I like sharing. Ill keep doing so on a limited basis. I guess posting too many find throws some folks into overload. I am glad I shared these two cache finds though. Groupings over 3 are rare.

I’m glad you did as well man. I’ve found 3 in a day, that’s my best so far. Of course I’m pretty much still a rookie at all of this. I’m sure there were Natives all over my property, not just the rock houses and overhangs. But all of my land are mountainous and hilly, and the game hunting is good pretty well all over here, so finding old camps seems tough for me. Many nice areas along the creeks to live, hunt and have fresh water for fishing and trading. Hopefully I will locate an old site not in a cave at some point. Good luck out there
