Lately I have had several occasions when I get a nice solid 84-85 swinging one way and zipo on the back swing turn 90 deg and sometimes get the same --never cleans up ????

Often I get a high tone and low vdi but wiggle over the spot and soon settle into a nice 81 --seems to take 5 -10 swings, strange ///

I cant find a nickel /// today I dug 3 solid 53s--all pull tabs---1 51 -it was a pc of junk al.

My coin ratios have changed --total for last 3 hunts 3 times dimes to qurters zero nickels and 1/2 as many pennies as dimes ???? (I did find 7 pennies in one hole last time out but counted it as 1)

anyway having a good time with the ATP Perry

Beep one way & not on return probably caused by partial iron rejection. I know iron rejection 35 does that on a bottle cap.

I use STD mode, iron rejection 40 (max), coins program, sens 7 of 8, ground balanced, iron ID off. Don't dig much trash but know I miss out on any gold rings that don't ID as nickel or zinc. Most use PRO mode zero whether they enjoy it or not, because it might get a coin under a nail. Hearing & digging everything is not for this tired old man with hard ground who does not want to make 1,000+ holes in each park or schoolyard, & just trying to relax.

A nickel, at least if shallow, will probably bounce 52-53 & getting perfect IDs on nickels beyond 2-3" in mineralized ground is rare & likely impossible with most detectors (in mineralized ground). I get upper 70s-low 80s on copper memorials, 80-85 on clad dimes. Zincs alternate high & low tones on return swing. Got the 80-85 #s every time on multiple passes over deep target reading 8" & loud beep. Was a clad dime 7" deep in hard & dry moderately mineralized soil. It also picked up a very tilted clad quarter down several inches with good ID, & a shallow nickel reading 52-53. Then for some reason I turn on iron ID & learn the nickel was surrounded by 5 pieces of iron! Just using the big stock coil I'm pretty satisfied. Best wishes, George (MN)

Interesting //Thanks for posting. I have been using pro, iron at 40
sens @-1 lots of noise// the nickel at 52-53 was always good but not now// ?? some pennies at 77-82 but almost all 81+ = a dime
God knows what it will read should I ever hit another silver //// I'll try other settings // Perry
