I found this while hiking in KY. Was in a stream and looked like it did not belong in the stream. Really odd. Geofact or should I take it to another thread?

Just a rock?

Does it seem painted and then scraped away on the edges? It seems to me if it’s been rolled, like a dice/game piece, the edges would be worn like that while middle would retain color. Or can that be natural?
