George Washington Thingy, & Other...
Hello all,,
It was a beautiful day here in Indiana yesterday. The temps were in the mid to high 40's and no wind. I snuck (<Spell Checker don't like that word, but I'm using it anyway
) back out for about an hour and had the best hunt I have in a long time... I found two wheats, a 41, and a 44. Also found this old token, madallion, or something, not sure what it is, but i like it... It reads, "1789 1st President U.S.A 1897 / George Washington", and has a bust of him in the center...
I found one similar to it on ebay, but it's holed in a different spot, and it doesn't look like the bust is raised as much on it as this one. It doesn't give any kind of info on it either.

Pic of the wheat's, and also a 1981/D penny that looks a whole lot red'er than any of the others I found at the site... I think I saw a post last week, or so about an 80's penny being made of copper and was considered rare, but i can't find the post... Is this one something I should hold on to, or should I just pitch in in with the rest of the clad...
One last item, for all the relic people, dug from about 10" down is this old aluminum cup.
As I stated above, this was one of the best hunts I have had in quite awhile. I also managed to find 58 cents in clad, which is pretty good for me... Hope ya had some luck.
Have a great day, Leon...
