:hello:

Today I went for a look at a couple of fields I have been waiting for the crop to come out, unfortunately they weren't ready :-\ so we tried a new field that had been sown with wheat, was expecting a good day on this field, but it wasn't to be the only find worth mentioning was the George1V Sixpence :o

The coin has been counterstamped with two letters :icon_scratch: still can't make up my mind what they are :dontknow: maybe R and J :dontknow:

Finished the day at our Villa site, bit different to the last time we were there :laughing9: took some nice shots of some of Michael's finds :o that were lying just on top :o didn't find much here either :-\ but a few bits popped out including a Medieval harness bell 13th century complete with the clanger..still rings :icon_thumleft:

The best part of the hunt was the scenery. The last pix is fantastic and I liked the spiderwebs also.

Hi Colin a great post with good finds  , Bell Harness Pendant is very interesting.
http://www.ukdfd.co.uk/ukdfddata/showrecords.php?product=25513&cat=116
the Sixpence George seems to have a counterstamped on the neck of the King, which also makes it very interesting and increases its value.
The Roman brooch is circular paint, this in my country is very rare that the Romans was not painted brooches, here.
Century buckle 17 is very nice and complete.
Of hammered I can not say that hammered not know much about English, but it is nice and is well preserved.
in short ..... good finds and good photographs.

Nice pics and finds mate, but if you tried moving your coil around a bit more you wouldn't get cobwebs on it :laughing9:

Looks like a good day to me...you're just a little spoiled I think! (Insert laughing Smiley). Sorry, typing on my BlackBerry and cannot access the smileys. Cheers.

Those are great recoveries. Since you find great silver of that age, which is old to us in the colonies, but young to you, do you keep them or scrap them. Also great pics and wonderful location. By the way how far are you from Hadrian's Wall.
