I think it's some sort of old law in Texas too. Everybody I know has 14 guns. One for the glove compartment, one for under the seat and 12 for the house. As for permits, I've heard it said that while you're getting your fake driver's license and fake liability insurance cards, you can get a fake permit too.

I can't help but respect local officials and law enforcement that give people credit for having enough common sense to do the right thing.

I'vs read stories of county sheriffs asking their citizens to take responsibility for their own safety because 1) it's a personal issue and 2) they can't always be there.
