Hello friends
These are the rewards from 3-4 hunts at a US base here in Germany. The base is located in the Mannheim area and once was part of a defensive FLAK (anti-aircraft artillery) network. This bases has been scheduled for closure later this year, so I have been busy trying to get as many hunts there as possible.

All finds using White's XLT with stock coil
Some of the great items found:
-German dog tags (ID tags), these were found in a small area (5x5ft) and were most likely just discarded, so they were not with bodies--all the tags indicate they were soldiers assigned to FLAK units
-Couple different German pins, including a rare viking shield for Swedish Days (sports event)
- Some mercury dimes
-Ammo, ammo and more ammo, including a rare 30 carbine drill round
-Many US buttons and insignia
- part of a US revolver
-Random coins, broken switch blade knife and old peanut butter C-rations
Can anyone ID Baltic pin in the last photo???????????

Enjoy

Do u know how old those U.S. buttons are?? I found some a couple weeks ago, not sure what they are worth, or when they are from. Nice finds though!!

WOW! Excellent finds! I like the German dog tags where you would just snap them in half.

Holy Smokes! Your on Fire!! That's what I call Dirt-fishing...HH Go Back :headbang:

Wow, incredible finds! I found the same roadster toy car at a military housing development built in the 40's for the Navy.

Outstanding digs!! Man I loved hunting in Germany. Tons of history there.

You're in the middle of history man!

Great finds.

Hi Rich! :hello: A great bunch of finds! These tags are great. I think the flak soldiers surrendered or just throw their stuff away and went home... Do You came over this weekend?

Very nice finds! Lots of good stuff there. Wehrmacht buttons, NSDAP badge etc.

Great great hunts you are having, and preserving much of the history of that area.
The buttons with the stars in the center.....I just found one last week.....I live in PyeongTaek, S. Korea.....found it at a local
tot lot......only thing with any age at all. I have found other buttons like them here, but not in the city.
Keep hunting.

Love to dig Europe for WW II relics ! US designated insignia held up decent . Luftwaffe flatware handle is cool , a few 45 cal . upper left ,the item with hooks , is a part off a M 1 Garrand, rifle sling , :o those flak batteries with their 88's were bad news for a bomber crew . The German's used them later in the war to defend land assaults . Nice work ,great finds :icon_thumleft:

Great finds. What an interesting place to hunt. Looking forward to seeing what else you find there. Cheers.
