Get the ACE 250 or the GTAx 550??

I posted this in the wrong forum so I am hoping I can get a couple quick answers from the experts here.

I will be using this mostly for coin hunting and I am total newbie. Also, how are the Automax pointers?

I think I know where your wanting to buy your detector.... Buy the 250 and then sell your Automax. This helps reduce tha cost of your detector. If you want a probe I suggest a SunRay inline or a Vibraprobe.

Hey swest I had the 550 a few years ago and I loved it. It was a great little machine very easy to use. I cant say if its any better then the 250 cause I have never used one I will say that I am going to buy another 550 this summer for a back up to my xlt. You wont be dissapointed with the 550 I know I wasnt.

The automax pinpointer works fine! The drawbacks>>>very large, bulky, but ok.

Welp, I ended up with the Ace 250. It as close but I got the Ace new versus the used 550. I figure I can always upgrade. I just didn't find a lot of feedback on the 550 and had a limited time to make a decision.

Thanks for the help and advice!! I am selling my Automax Pinpointer and looking for something else. Now if I can just get my family back to health (colds), then I can finally get out and start having some fun!

I use a 550 and have some time hunting with a 250 both are good. The price of the 550 is about $100 more but i like it better i guess because iam use to it.
