I have what I believe to be a partially agatized (there are sections without any agatized structures) stromatolite almost completely covered and filled with a druze of red/pink/orange/yellow/white quartz. its about 16" in any given dimension and weights close to 85 lbs.

However I know very little still and I have use the power of deduction in this case so I'm still probably way off! If anybody has any thoughts they are welcome.

I thought coral, or from the ocean as well. Kinda looks like "live" rock for a saltwater tank.

A geologist from UW Madison checked it on monday, it's just a bunch of weird growing quartz and chalcedony like material.

They said they would not be able to name it if it was displayed in their museum, it would just have multiple bullet points of its composition.

So I'm going to break it open this weekend
