The last time I was in the Glass bottle area, we had found several broken bottles from the late 40's nothing out of the ordinary.. but I've decided to reduce the size of a few of these samples and tumble them to see if I can achieve a seaglass appearance..

Has anyone else attempted this?..

Sea glass seems really popular at the minute. I've seen quite a lot of sites where people make it into jewelry.

You can definitely tumble it yourself, but there is better value in naturally tumbled beach glass. Still, the ability to create rare colors (red, orange, turquoise, cobalt blue) with vintage bottles is very cool. The experts can tell the difference between natural and machine tumbled glass.

I make jewelry out of Chicago beach glass and its tough to keep pieces in stock and I only have so much time. Here is a color rarity chart I created:
Chicago Beach Glass Rarity | Tru Origins

Those are just lovely.
