Anyone in the Deerfiield area? I am new to this forum. I am from Jacksonville and going to be in Deerfield Beach for a wedding on the weekend Will be there wed-sunday. I am going detecting pretty much most of the day. I have two detectors. Garret GTA 550 X and a Whites Beach Hunter ID. I went a week ago for half a day on a day trip with my 11 year old to Sebastian Inlet. We detected for 2-3 hours. I went by the steakhouse after realizing how much new sand is south of the inlet. The north side was steep but still needs a few more feet to get to the good stuff. I found an interesting piece of metal which I don't know what it is. I got it 50 yards north of the beach access mid beach in some dark sand in a v-cut. I will put up a pic next week when I get back. It is about the size of a razor blade, some corrosion rust. has a bunch of pencil sized holes in it. My son found a piece of iron while walking along the waterline sticking out of the sand when a wave went out. It has a hollow tube and had some sort of wood inside it. It is about half the size of a fist and two bumps. Just found the energy to post the pics. Is this a razor? I don't think it is.

The top one looks like

Maybe a gasket of some sort. Think of how a head gasket is made. Two sheets of metal with a resiliant material in between.

It's pretty small. Maybe an intake or exhaust gasket from a small engine or a compressor, Maybe a refrigeration compressor?

it's not a gasket. It is pretty thick even though the pic doesn't show it. It's solid iron. To me the only thing it resembles it some sort of lock reciever. The four corner holes are screw holes to hold it down. Maybe the bottom of a master lock.
