hi - we are going to go to sebastian for the first time this week. how can i rent a metal detector (or do you have to buy)? i'm going with my neice and want to get a md for her as well. any info is appreciated.

I doubt anyone in the area will rent you one now. I don't know how far you are traveling, but the outer islands are still off limits to non residents. Supposedly lots of trees and simular dibris all over the place, plus the island has been cut below Sebastian and may not even be passable at that point. And most likely the residents are out there right now with their detectors, so it would most likely be a waste of time if you have to travel too far.
