Gold, Diamonds and buttons find

[Cape Hunter]

Finds close to an old root cellar of mostly round local stones. No well, so they must have gotten their water from a small creek near by. But they seemed to have good taste with the items I found. 18K Gold bar pin with cobalt blue diamonds was right next to the buttons. Diamonds and Gold tested real. Thought I did the damage despite being careful. But the hole had no other parts so it was probably not me. Looks Victorian to me. Down just as deep as the buttons I found. Civil war button is the second one I have found at this site. The Green button with decoration in the center is interesting. The eagle head button is small, but has a shank. Not a women's button, maybe military related?

That's a nice Jacksonian eagle button. There were several variations of that. All nice finds!
