This appears to be a gold plated locket I dug up from the 1890s school house. It still has the glass inside but what ever the picture was, is long gone. The buckle came from my yard. Anyone have an idea for the year? The locket read a solid 21 on the nox. If that?s what it is. Sorry for the picture orientation, I get tired of fighting with it.

Circa mid-19th C horse harness buckle. Some are going to tell you, you have a Rev War batwing sling Buckle in your back yard. (I don't buy into that theory)

That's exactly what I was going to say Cru :laughing7: ... that the buckle looks to be half of a colonial 'Batwing Buckle'.
The locket is a nice find,
Dave

Dude could it really be that old? I did some research on our property. Our house was built in 1943. And before our house was built there was an old run down farm house out here. I think the guy who lived in it passed away in 1890 or sometime around there, I would have to check. But anyway, his great grandfather was one of the few people in this county who is actually buried here, that was in the revolutionary war. So do you really think that’s what it is? I can provide more pictures if needed. Thank you

Depends what you want to believe, the solid proof on these are lacking. Published in 1 book, & just because it's in a book, doesn't make it correct. (I know plenty of mistakes, some in highly researched books)
What is in your favour, is that there are 2 main types of central bar, the off-set bar for heavy leather. In my mind, a give-a-way of a horse harness buckle & yours which is not off-set which 'might' indicate a different use. So, yours is debatable. However, I don't think these are Rev War related.

More pictures

Here are more photos of the buckle if anyone is interested.
