Gold prospecting eastern Oregon?

Hey all, has anyone ever tried prospecting around baker/richland area? Thinking about moving there, and I'm curious if panning/sluicing/sniping/detecting will yield any gold.

Is it mostly placer or lode?

any creeks or rivers in that area will have some gold in them...

It is mostly placer. The Oregon Gold belt is in the blue mountains it is mostly concentrated in the southern half. A short Internet search will take you deep quickly.
