I was surprised to see an estate sale listed for Saturday and Sunday. I decided to go by on Sunday for ½ price day. While waiting in line the operator said that on this one EVERYTHING was half price, no exceptions. I was #30 in line and immediately went to the jewelry case. A guy in front picked up a nice ladies gold filled pocket watch for $32.50 (half of $65). Dang. I then saw a grouping of gold rings. Both were $95 and were chunky. Both are scrap with CZ or missing stones but I paid $47.50 each. They weigh in at 12G total. I then spotted two bags of Merck service pins. One bag had one 14kt gold one and the other bag had three with two being 10kt and one 1/10 10Kt. Each bag was $25 so I paid $12.50 for each bag. The 14kt one was 2g and the two 10kt weighed in at 3.3g. My final weigh in was 14g of 14kt and 3.3g of 10kt. That calculates out to $327 in scrap gold for $122.00. Awesome finish to a great year!

Well done JimDon. I hope that you have a nice holiday season!

That's awesome!! Great job! There's nothing here in Ct for estate sales or yard sales. The season is over and we are suffering from withdrawal! [emoji30]. I think I'll start a support group! We'll hit some flea markets and auctions through the winter though but sometimes they're not the same.

thats the way to do it

That's a bummer man. No metal detecting no garage sales no estate sales. You can always do some coin roll hunting or hit the antique shops. You'd be surprised how much missed marked stuff you'll find it antique shops. Also Habitat for Humanity is a good one to. I've done well at some of the habitat restore's.

Good point with Habitat. We do go to the antique shops but the prices are generally high. We've picked up a few goodies at them before though. I could still go metal detecting but have been busy on the weekends. I know, no excuses!! [emoji12].
