Alright, so the gold is from a plated men's wedding band, but the rest of today's haul from a 100+ year old home in central Long Island is pretty dope:

The Good Luck token is for the Friendly Lodge for Blind Girls, marked with the address 248 Park Place, Brooklyn:

Can't find much on the place, but I did manage to google up a newspaper clipping where the Lodge is mentioned in the Brooklyn Daily Eagle, March 28th, 1928:

A 'beautiful hair contest'. Can you imagine? I love reading about the stuff people did back before television and internet ruined our lives for good. :laughing7:

Here's a closeup of my first British "largie", which came out of the ground looking fantastic:

The wedding band is plated, and mostly worn off. The heart charm is STERLING. The bigger lock plate is so elaborate and beautiful I'm tempted to try and bend the top part back and make it whole again. Any advice on that would be appreciated it (maybe heat it?). I'm of the opinion that "hey, if it breaks it breaks." It's amazing no matter what.

Finally, I'll say that my buddy brought me to this place and it was his first time detecting. I gave him my old AT-PRO and after a couple of wheat cents each he was THRILLED to have found a buffalo nickle. I was even more thrilled for him! I think he's hooked. :icon_thumright:

Happy Hunting!
