So this wasn't just "today's finds" but the last three days. It's been a pretty nice few days out in the field here in central Cali. The weather is starting to get a little nasty, but at least there's no snow!! I'm still wearing shorts and a Tee shirt out there haha.
Anyways, I got a 1947 Rosie, and a decent looking 1928 Merc. Happy about that one. So the next few items I have some questions about:
I found what looks to be a child's bracelet that is stamped "14K GF". From what I've read, that means "gold filled?" I dunno. If anyone has any input on that, please let me know. It has some crappy spots on it but looks good otherwise.
Next is a bullet. We don't find many of these style bullets around these parts, so I was really shocked to pull it out of the ground. I was however in a field across from a park that dates back to the late 1800s, so I guess I'm in the right timeframe. If anyone has any input on this (I'm guessing 3-ringer) bullet, please lemme know.
Next I have a button. Now I did some research and found a few other people that found this same thing and haven't been able to ID it. Could be modern, could be a little older. Who knows....this was found in a soccer field yesterday down about 8" in some thick sloppy mud.
Last I have the bird piece. Looks like it may have been a necklace. And I'm guessing brass. It's kinda pretty. And in great shape. Was found at the old field site along with the bullet.
Thanks for looking. Sorry for the long message. Just trying to explain the best I can. Thanks all. And HH
