So a bit to unload. I recently became the owner of an equinox 800. A fellow member and close friend of mine Gunsil came across the nox used online. He found it, checked it out, and got it for me packed it up and sent it to me! The guy is a legend. I have had the machine about a week. Already hit a silver dime in park1. Had a hour after work today and hit this beautiful 18k ring with 20 small stones in beach1. Has a name and will try to locate owner. Cleaned up nice. Love this machine. Have hunted the ATpro for 8 years and love it but....being able to hit the saltwater beaches here is a must. I’m sold on my nox and can’t wait to keep hitting it.

Beautiful ring. I need a new machine and am torn between the AT Pro and an Equinox. The AT has been more reliable as a fully submersed detector, whereas some Equinox’s have flooded. But being able to hunt salt water is appealing too.

Don't let that stop you. Buy it and dunk it. if it leaks, have them send you another one until you get one that doesn't leak. Usually they leak from day one if they're going to, rather than develop a leak later. They come with a 3 year warranty too, so, that should allay some of your fears too. IMO, there is nothing the At Pro can do that the Equinox can't do better.

Agree with Cudamark except be purchased for about $300 on the used market. The AT Pro has water leak issues as well but may be more user error not cleaning and greasing the o ring on the battery cover.
