I stopped in at a resale shop on my way to swing the ACE 250 and found a Tesoro Compadre in mint condition for $20. I have never ran one of these but plan to give it to my son and let him swing it.

I absolutely love my compadre. I have several top of the line detectors and I grab the compadre most of the time now for land hunting. I turn the control knob to point between the "R" and "O" in the word "Iron". It's usually enough to discriminate junk iron and bobby pins and etc. out and I dig everything else. It will find a small gold chain where some of my others won't, unless I use some real in depth custom programs. That's a great price on it too. Good luck.
