I went to the same beach today that my detector was acting strange at on Monday. The good news is it ran just fine today. The bad news is I didn't find much. 1 quarter in water, a nickel in the dry sand and 1 silver toe ring near the jet ski rental shack.

It ain't much, but here are 2 pics

Did you take that pic through a magnifying glass? I can never get that to work. Cool ring.
I have a Sand shark and it has acted like you described on a couple of occasions and then it worked fine.

Yes the pic was taken using super macro though a 10x jewelers loupe.

I can't figure out why my detector was acting strange, but I'm glad it stopped .

Thanks and HH
