It was by an older home site is why the newer stuff serviced. Directly across the road from a famous Civil War Military park, on private land.

Those sure cleaned up nice. We went back out today, and got a lot more bullets, plus 50+ more acres to hunt, thats got a 1840's homesite on it that is no longer there, but has a well, and hopefully a privy we can dig out. The video from our hunts from yesterday, and today are up on our YouTube channel. Jared decided to bottom feed off my area I was detecting, or the line I was detecting, and found a big round ball 10 foot in front of the one I was digging. I'll post mine here in a few on today's finds.

I've often detected the periphery of sites or as you mentioned Randy, even across the street from where the action took place. A few years ago in Niagara Falls, Ontario I detected a small strip of land next to a War of 1812 site where the British had a skirmish with the US Militia and found a couple of British uniform buttons and a few musket balls.
