Had a hunt on some local beaches Saturday and Sunday, got a nice Silver and Jade Ring that looks old style and a Silver Chain amongst the usual coins and odds n sods.

Is that what it is? I just guessed Jade, Malachite sounds like a name of some sort of disciple!

I agree on the stone being malachite - It is a nice ring- but malachite is pretty soft, so not the best choice for ring stones .

Personally, I've always loved Malachite. It may not be the hardest stone around, but I've seen some beautiful pieces made with it. If it's good enough for Charles Loloma, it's just fine by me.
