Been meaning to post this for over a week now. I went to three different locations with a friend of mine (his first time detecting). First was a beach. Didn't find much over there. Next was a park across the road found some decent stuff there. My friend found a 1944 wheat cent which I thought was cool for his first hunt. Last we hit a playground which has produced great stuff for me. It was the playground that I found the claddagh ring last year. A few minutes in, got a shallow signal and found this:

An earring!!
Doubt it's silver but a jewelry find none the less. Shouted to my friend "Hey! Jewelry find." The look on my friends face was priceless. I thought he was going to toss my old detector (which I let him borrow) at me. He had fun for his first time and would definitely do it again. GL & HH for 2014!!!

An earring!!
