I've just recently gotten interested in collecting coins. I've been metal detecting now for over a year and once I found a large cent and a couple of mercs I decided to also start buying some coins. I really know nothing about grading and all that stuff, just buy a few things here and there that I like. I got the Peace Dollar at a flea market booth in Florida, paid $15 for it...the Franklin half I got from a person here on this board...all the other coins in the one pic are coins my Dad gave me this past weekend. I was in Fla. visiting for the past week and he told me he had a box of coins and junk that I could have. He didn't even know what was in it or if anything was valuable. The coins in the pic are the only ones that looked decent, most of the stuff was just presidential tokens from the gas station...toll tokens, stuff like that.
I saw the same year Peace dollar on ebay going for like $50 and it has quite a few bids...did I get a decent deal on this one?

It is hard to tell the Peace dollars grade but it is probably a $20 coin. It may have been cleaned. The Franklin is right on the money if it is MS60. The stuff your Dad gave you is worth around $25 together.

Hey nice stuff...Hang on to your tokens, and if your father gave you the stuff it is worth more than money......NEVER PART WITH IT.......Anything my father gave me I would keep for the rest of my life, and then pass it on to my children, and hope they would keep it...I like the 1964 worlds fair token, that is really cool.......

The peace dollar looks a little porous or scratched. It may very well have been cleaned at some point. However I still think its worth $15 or more. If it hadn't been cleaned i would say 50-75 dollars would be a good estimate on value.

the barber dime, half and quarter are nice -- keep a eye on em --

bottom picture, 2 coins on the bottom left. What are they?
