I found a deal on an Excal 1000 on EBay that I just couldn't pass up. ;D

I got one that is 11 months old, comes with Minelab padded carry case, Minelab finds pouch, Alkaline "AA" battery pod, rechargeable battery pod, wall charger, short dive shaft, hip mount carry for control unit, coil cover, 1 digging tool, 1 automax precision V2 pinpointer (already have one so will sell it), the original minelab box for this unit, and delivered to my door for $850.

What makes the deal even sweeter, the seller bought the extended warranty so the warranty is still good for 25 more months and he tells me if there is ever a problem to contact him and I can use the warranty through him. What is nice is he lives in St. Pete which isnt that far from Orlando. I have a brother who lives in St Pete, so if by chance it ever arises, it's not a big deal to take it to him.

Not a bad deal treasure_hunter! I got a brand new one from a member on this forum (okay it was two weeks old) for $900 and it had the new yellow headphones as well. He didn't like it and I LOVE it. Can't wait for spring so I can get back out in the water and start to play some more. I love to water hunt. You are going to love that machine.

Thanks, Cal. I was looking at the Tesoro Tiger Shark with the lifetime warranty but just could not pass up the Excal, the deal sealer was when the seller told me in private email he would be more then happy to take care of any problems that might arise in the future using the extended warranty he bought. Since I have family in same town it would be real easy...

Just curious why you are waiting till spring to get in the water. I was in the water last Saturday at Daytona. With my wetsuit its wasn't bad. I was only beteen knee to waist deep though as the surf was a little rough.

ahhhh... So you're the guy that oudbid me.... I was watching a few this past week. I was in an accident back on Halloween, and my excalibur was in the back of my Tahoe. Seems that the moron who rear-ended me doing about 60 hit me just right and my excal is in about 100 pieces. I fiought with the insurance company for almost 5 weeks to get them to pay for the detector. Now i just need to replace it

Good luck with the machine

Ooops, I may be busted.. ;D

I know there were two other bidders when I used the "buy it now option". After talking to the seller several times via private messages, he assured me it was in perfect condition, and that if a problem ever developed he would be more then happy to use the extended warranty he bought if I got the unit to him. Since he lives close to one of my brothers that convinced me to close the deal..........Sorry.....

I know there are still several up....

lol.... don't worry about it... i'm still looking. It will be too cold up here in RI in the near future, so i don't NEED it now... I just WANT it.

Good luck with it. You will definitely enjoy it (once you figure out the tones)

This is probably going to make you cry... but this morning i won an auction for an excal 800. I figured i would have gotten outbid... but i won it for $500. Just talked to the guy. Older gentleman living in arizona. Only used it a few times in his back yard... never even seen the water. Still has the original box, papers and all the goodies he got with it last year when he bought it, and hes sending them with the detector FREE OF CHARGE

I'm hoping to have it next week. So... while initially i was a little upset that you grabbed the first one I was bidding on (LOL)... I have had a complete change of heart. Thanks

good luck
steve

Yes, I had that item in my ebay as a watched item. It says seller ended the aution early to sell item to the current high bidder. Guess he was in a hurry to sell, good for you as no doubt there would have been more bidders as the auction got close to close time. I never bid till the end of an auction.

Congrats on the win, you got a good deal, I was surprised when I checked my Ebay and saw that the auction ended early and you got it at the price you did. ;)

That's a sweet deal Treasure! I'm sure it will pay for itself the first season out! Good Luck and Happy Hunting/Night Stalker ;D
