On my way to my Rev War spot I decided to detect. First signal of the day and out pops this flattenned button which I thought, based on its size, was an eagle button. Yet my second signal turned out to be a dropped ringtail sharps which is as Confederate as you can get. So ofcourse I begin to wonder about the button again. Well for the next 30 minutes I just couldn't get that button off my mind......and no other buttons under my coil. So I continued on to where I was headed to begin with. Once there I dug some musket balls and a nice colonial sling buckle and some other colonial brass but no more French buttons. On may way out I hit the button spot again and dug a tear drop pistol bullet and 2 colt pistol bullets. Well my button turned out to be a South Carolina. Its not the prettiest but I'll take it. Dug a Virginia and a Norfolk Academy earlier last month, didn't expect a South Carolina. Hopefully there will be a perfect one nearby where I found this one and a couple more ringtails. It was a beautiful day to do some digging. HH Devonrex
