You know you've got the fever bad when you are waiting in line in the drive thru @ a fast food restaurant & you catch yourself looking at the rocks! Because hey they have to get those rocks from somewhere, right? lol :tongue3:
Well I'm not going to be able to get out till sunday & then I may not get 2 because we're to get Poss. T-Storms don't want to be down in a creek & get a caught in flash flood! :-\ Oh well, that'll make the arrowheads sprout! ;D
So to everyone who is going to get out & going 2 have nice weather I'm envious.
Good luck & Good hunting!

I doubt you'll find ant artifacts in those landscaping rocks, but I have found some very nice agates in them.

You'd be surprised. My family was in Pittsburgh a couple of years ago for the MLB All Star game and the hotel we stayed at had tons of rocks surrounding the building and the parking lot. Being the rock hound I am I had to look. I found two nice Hammerstones and the poll end off of a Celt in the rocks after about 30 minutes of looking around. I was also at a Doctors office about 15 years ago and as I was leaving I looked over into the landscape rocks around the bushes out front and saw a piece of flint so I started looking around and I ended up finding a small Scraper and a base off of a point. Like DemonCatSpaceStar said, they have to get these rocks from somewhere and a lot of times it is just washed creek gravel and we all know how good some creeks are at giving up artifacts.

You are cracking me up.
You have the right attitude though. You never know what will be in a load of rocks or dirt. Called one farmer and he disced his fields and we are there in the morn. Fields had multiple occupations so ya never know if ya dont go. Stay dry.

I know a car parts guy that found a couple in the
stores gravel outside of the building, and also a
counter guy. But, if I remember correctly, I might
have threw some crude ones out of the car a while
back when I was at the store. I might be wrong,
but I'll let them have their fun. ;D

Too funny. I looked at the drive thru today at wendys.

great post.Reminds me of a moment in time as i was on a roof of a major tire manufacturing plant, and noticed all the old brown rocks covering the roof.needless to say took my mind of what i was supposed to do up there and collected fossils for my eight hours.wish i had arrowheads in my mind then.as i think about it i feel ok because i think i would have knew what it was if i would have seen it. jamey

dont be surprised!!!! my nephew decided that since he was only sitting on the bench at the ballpark, that he would go play in the dirt pile that was brought in for the ballfields. he comes up to me and my brother with an arrowhead. found in the dirt pile. go back and look for more...brings 2 more back. as for the fever... i could never be a farmer because i would be jumping off the tractor every 2 minutes to look at rocks!!!
