After reading the book several times, watching the video three times, and experimenting with it here in the house some, I finally got out to get some "on the job training" the other day in the yard I grew up in.

2 1/2" flat washers 5-6" deep
1 5/8 sq. nut 4" deep
a piece of no. 9 wire 8" deep
an old rivet
1 1/4 x 2" bolt
1 22cal. rifle shell, spent
1 22mag. rifle shell, spent
1 3/4" bearing ( I thought I hit paydirt when this rang up on the screen )I was thinking " MORGAN".

And some other scrap Iron too numerous to mention.

BUT.....................I also found.........,

1- 1954 wheatie
2- 1969 pennies
1- 1965 dime
1- 1961 nickel
1- 1965 quarter

It's a start.,I'm happy. Now I need to spent more time getting to know the machine better.

I found this Forum 2-3 weeks ago, and have been reading a lot. THANK YOU all for the info!!!!!! VERY MUCH!!!!!!!!!
I don't enjoy typing too much,as I "search and peck". But I will chime in from time to time.
I also love to fish and hunt, so this is just what I needed, another hobby!

I wish I could retire and play.
I do love my profession, but building log homes for 22 yrs. seems to be unkind to my 53 yr.old body.
I better shut up, my father is 82, and still taking care of his 80 acres and cattle.

Ok,,,,I'll stop. Mike.

Bridgendfarm, I must agree, and there no better place to be than on a farm. IMO. Plenty of good, honest, hard work to keep a person in shape.

Thanks, HH

Mike.

very nice finds for a newbie. Welcome

Yo Mike,
Welcome to TN. Your typing will improve ,as you will start finding some really great things. I already see some silver for you-soon.
Joe

Glad you got in your first hunt! I always think the first hunt is the most rewarding! At least your getting decent coins. Its hard to find good hunting spots up here in washington state because all of it is mostly cement.
