Got it real cheap

Got this at garage sale less then 10 bucks. It works but the thing shows the 50 cent icon blinking and beeping a lot even when not swinging. I use a ace 150 but This would be for family and friends. Any help on the beeping 50 cent I con/ Thanks for any help. HH

Turning down the Sensitivity helps some but it still beep. I can make it beep with just a shake of the coil. I am thinking maybe a bad coil.? Not sure where to get another coil. But thanks for asking.

With cheaper detectors iron junk commonly registers at or near the same conductivity as does a 50 cent piece.

In reality though, there are very few 50 cent pieces to be found any more anyway. A silver 50 cent piece however registers a rock-solid 10-20% higher conductivity than does a clad 50 cent'er. If the signal alternates between iron and a 50 cent piece it is at least a 90% chance that it is iron junk.
