This morning, our Bookkeeper came into my office and asked if I was interested in this quarter....when I saw it was a 1954, I said YES MA'AM!!!!

Then later on, I got called to the Customer Service Desk and I'm thinking..."I'll never get my work done if they keep calling me up!"

I get up there and she says, "Give me a dollar." Now, when they say for me to give them money, I know it's to buy some coins. I was thinking maybe 50 cents pieces or quarters....

Well, a customer was there paying his bill and he took out a dollars worth of change....and my friend said, "Wow". He said, "If you have a collector in the store, let them know." And that's when I got the page...

The pics below will show you what I got from him. The one buffalo nickel...I can't make out the "third" number. I am thinking '39 or '29...but the other one is pretty good. So, today was a good day at work...(doing the SILVER DANCE!!!)

Thanks for looking!
Annmarie

Thanks ya'll....yeah, that quarter is pretty beat up...but that's ok...it's still silver!

LOL Rtde3..that's cute! ;)

Crazyjarhead....I felt bad. When I went up to the desk, he was there. I saw the coins and said....AWESOME! Then I looked at him and said, "You should be saving these." He said he needed a dollar for the fee to pay his bill and that's all he had. So, he had to get into his collection to get a dollar. He had clad with it too...what you see is all he had along with clad...so it wasn't quite a buck I got. The quarter was from early in the morning from the bookkeeper.

I did feel really bad and my after thought was I should have gotton his number so he could buy them back later if he wanted. I could see he really did not want to turn them over.

I pray that what I have collected so far, that times don't get too hard that I have to resort to spending my collection.

Get that "3 legged" from him next time he comes in.

make a mixture of red cider vinegar and salt and put a few drops on the date area of the dateless buffalo, rinse after 5 minutes, then repeat till you can read the date......NGE (T)

Don't bother. It's a '29. '38 was the last year for the buffalo.

I knew that, but it will work for totally dateless bufalloes too :tongue3:

Nice!!

Dont you just love coming across a buffalo that hasn't been in the ground? Even worn, they look so fantastic compared to the ones that were. :)

That's not fair! you are supposed to use a detector, You should give them back! ::)

Heck that quarter looks dug to me. Look at the scraped reverse!

Nice haul!

I would have given him a dollar so he could keep his coins.
