One more item. It has a couple of what looks like some type of hinges, like a lid for a tin or can. I can't find any writing and it is tin material . The penny is for reference. Thanks.

That's about the right size for a child's case.

I would think it may be a double compact (vanity) case. 1920's perhaps?
Then again, opera glasses are small, and I do agree the shape looks right...
Edit: hmm, no seems too small still for a case from opera glasses, and those were made of wood most commonly, so I'll stick with the compact as my guess.
