weather is finally nice - fields are thawed but mucky
I ran out for 2 hours - first hit was a deep can - second was 2 cent piece
thought I was in a good spot - next target was buckle - then large musket ball
then it was can after can - found the watch key on the way out
will definitely have to get back there when it dries out a little more

That 2 cent piece would have made my month. Nice finds!

You did well Casper. Hope the fields dry out for you soon. HH, Q.

That 2 cent piece would make my day !!!!

Well done.

That 2 cent piece would have made my month. Nice finds!

was only in field about 5 mins. - 2c was my second target
it was caked in clay like mud - at first I thought it was a clad quarter
I looked at its edge - no reeds - good sign
did not look or feel like a 1/2 cent
thought it might be a farthing or 2 -center
when I got back to my jeep - scratched a little of the clay off and saw shield lines
not a common find (ive found 4 in 38 yrs of hunting)- Im happy with it

Those fields are fun but you sure have to dig a lot of trash to get the keepers

Congrats on the 2 center! Glad to see you guys up there are finally able to get out :icon_thumright:

Don you are hot with that water machine on land buddy, looking forwards to seeing your treasure for the water season coming...

I found a 2 cent piece about 30 years ago and haven't found one since. They are quite scarce coming out of the ground along with shield nickels, 20 cent pieces, 3 cent pieces and trade dollars. Nice find.

when I was a kid - dreamed of finding a 20 c
my first seated quarter (I was around 14-15) - remember seeing the eagle side and thinking I had one
yea in my 39th yr now and have found 4 - 2c and 6 shields - they are not common

Nice variety there Casp:headbang:

hey man, any day out is a good day and coming home with relics is an added bonus! nice stuff.

Very nice Casper. As we were discussing earlier, the item in the upper left is likely from an 18th century watch winder. Great find!

Awesome hunt! Love all the trash too, shows you gotta dig it all!

Like that two center...
