With the help of the alumni person at the high school I was able to locate the owner of the graduation key I found on campus June 15th. I found her in the 1979 yearbook and gave the name to the alumni person. (All communication was by email and between me and the alumni lady.) She made contact, but the lady didn’t want to meet, she just wanted me to tell where I found it and leave it at the school. I replied I would do that and told here that I found it on the college campus and exactly where it was, but would really like to deliver the key in person. The next reply gave me the ladies name and office phone number so I could arrange to deliver in person. I was at camp last week so Monday I made the call and arranged to meet her on campus today. It turns out she lost it sometime in the fall of 1979 while she was a student getting her first degree. She got a second degree at the local University and now works at the college where I found the key. It’s a small world isn’t it.
It was part of a necklace. I checked it out and it appears they don’t make them anymore. They used to be a big thing and now I guess nobody wants them. I have found 6 or 7 of them, but this is the first one where I could identify the school and with initials so I could track the owner.
So we now have a happy lady, amazed that her lost key found its way back to her after all these years. No picture because she didn’t want one taken or posted. I have done my scout good turn for today.
Thanks for looking and may your coil lead you to good things.
