Started out walking aimlessly in the woods was a farm going back to 1700s now woods dug this odd can “cocaine “ maybe a old Coca Cola can ? They say they used to put cocaine in soda anyway next I stumbled upon this cool small shoe maybe a donkey or small horse? Next I found a tombac button I think and next to it a cuff button then another cuff buton .lots of old shotgun casings and bullets . Left went to a friends house that I’ve pounded and finds dried up his lawn had 1798 copper work Spanish reale and lots of old buttons a pre 1850 house once sat in his lawn . Got a new program which has been killing it and decided to give it a whirl found a nickel then got a iffy signal with iffy vdi decided to dig it 9 inches pulled out this beauty 1807 king George 111 copper a few mins later Same kind of signal and probably 13-15 inches dug this beauty hopefully it’s from that time period 7BDE82B7-74AB-479A-BDC3-B604716C13FF.webp5C0BDCFC-7412-4E53-99C9-75907BC7CF11.webp456EC5C7-4DAB-4092-BA9E-F46D90F4A9BF.webp80F452FA-7B27-4BE9-AF61-51205877EEA2.webp6EB067C7-E257-44B1-A32E-29AFABBBD760.webp1A0EA019-BAF3-4788-A815-8F584795EA6E.webpA38332F2-A8CB-41CA-990E-82D356128C40.webp6D6DF535-44A8-4574-B2C2-E7B51E256C57.webp

Found this on the markings: Anchor, This symbol shows which Assay Office tested and marked the item. The Anchor is the symbol of Assay Office Birmingham. Crown, (On some older gold jewellery, you may also come across a crown symbol, called the Crown Standard. This stamp meant that the item was gold, though along with the date letter, it's now optional on modern jewellery). So I would say English hallmarks. Maybe pm Red Coat he is pretty good on some of these hallmarks.

Those are some sweet finds!

However, I am skeptical of the ring. That kind of crust would make me suspect a plated or filled item. I hope it’s solid but if I dug a ring that looked like that I wouldn’t have my hopes up.

Thanks I was skeptical also how ever I do see gold under the tarnish being this is a really old property and the depth I found it and also where I found it was close to where the old house once sat . I googled it and found this about gold I guess it’s possible if it’s really old and most stuff back then came from England and the marks coincide I don’t know much about jewelry but the 14 and the British crown indicate it is real gold

[FONT=&]The product was pulled from store shelves across the country in 2007 because they did not have FDA approval.

Cool finds, but, I have my doubts about the ring not being plated.

1807 is pretty good nick.
It's real gold plating which was common in the late 1800s.

Very cool finds. Interesting history on the "cocaine" container. Thanks for all you knowledge and resources. Congratulations!

Very Nice!!! Congrats!!!

Congrats on the very productive hunt! :occasion14:
