Friday afternoon I went for a quick hunt at one of our standby sites and found nothing worth keeping. Saturday Damnails and I went to a new permission to try and locate a rumored Confederat camp and only found trash. (We'll keep researching that). It was starting to look like one of those weekends. This morning, nobody wanted to go so I loaded up the Beast and headed to what we think was a Confederat picket post. I have hunted this site many times and finds have gotten slim. They have recently cut timber in a small patch of woods here so I decided to work the skidder roads. After lots of modern shell casings and trash, I began to find some camp lead. Anyone who CW relic hunts knows that's a good sign and to slow down.
I found more melt in a small area than I ever have and got tired of digging it. Also found several bullets, to include eight 58 cal three ringers, two CS Richmond Sharps, and a cool pistol bullet. (My second from this site). Also pictured are two modern coins. I was hoping for a couple buttons or some relics, but I'm happy none the less.
