I decided to hit a spot that I hadn't been to since 2016. That was my first year with the CTX and I had really no idea what I was doing. I had hit this area with the pro before and had barely found anything. These spots are covered with holes from other detectorists. There are 4 cellars on this road,I started at the furthest away, and worked my way back. I spent a half hour and found absolutely nothing. Went across the street and dug 3 buttons. I skipped the next cellar since they target shoot around it. I hit the last one and dug 3 more bullets and some ornate cone shaped thing. I only had a half hour left before I had to get going and was getting a little discouraged. Across the road, there is a stone wall with granite markers in the opening so I figured I'd try it. As I got there, right outside the wall,on the right ,was a square footprint that I thought might be a small cellar. I swung the detector and got a iffy high tone that read 01-34 on the CTX. As I dug , it became a clean signal. 1828 large cent , Awesome!! I then swung the detector halfway around and hit a area with multiple tones and IDs. I start to dig,1906 Indian, Cool! I swing back over the hole and get a high tone,I'm thinking junk. I dig it,1896 barber quarter,WOW!! I swing back over and there's another signal,no way. It's another 1906 Indian, YEAH!! I had to go but I swung around for a couple of minutes and picked up at least 3-4 signals that rang up 12-45,12-46 so I'll definitely be back! If anyone knows what the cone thing is,let me know ,I'm stumped.
