Great ten minutes

Stopped at a teardown site today and only had ten minutes to detect and found a 93 indian, 74 kennedy 1/2, one silver ring and this military button. Does anyone know about the button? I'm going back after dinner tonight.

The "button" is actually a WWI period U.S. Army enlisted man's collar disk.

The “US” disk was worn on the right collar, and the branch of service (artillery, cavalry, infantry, etc.) disk was worn on the left collar. See second photo down at:
