Griding an area?

Not sure what the rest would say but for me I quardran off an area, hit it slowly from many different angles and when i'm sure I covered it sufficiently I move on to the next quadrant

Three sets of golf tees and kite string work well and keeping good records on places you may plan to return to also helps.

Good luck!

Never heard of golf tees and kite string. ???. I pick a small patch and hit it hard in several directions. When I'm satisfied that I got everything, I move on to a new patch. I do keep good records.

Just like a tic tac toe board, that's what I do. Go from 2 different ways then just for kicks if you have time , turn down the discrimination and go 2 more times. By the way I like the musky avatar looks to be near 40 inches. Where are you at in WI??

I've always used golf-tees about two feet apart. I hit a site North/South, then
come back East/West. I use a lot of overlap, also. I also hit it multiple times
with different loop sizes, or models of detectors.

I use a street light or a tree as a landmark and walk toward it, or the marks from the big lawnmowers. I then try to hit the area again walking 90 degrees from the direction I hit it last time. The local elementry school has at least 3 acres of grass I have been there 8-10 times and I still get about 1.50 per hour in clad every time. It has 3 seperate playground areas and 1 real baseball diamond and 2 other areas where the kids play baseball.
