Found this along a river in southern Ohio. Any ideas? IMG_20130802_205735.webpIMG_20130802_205617.webpIMG_20130802_205750.webp

Post it in the.Native American artifact forum. I think it could be a weight from a drill

Definitely not a grinding stone. Could be a weight, could be a target for arrow practice, could have been a "toy" or part of a game. I agree you need advice from someone specialized in native american artifacts for your area.

Need more pics of all edges and a better pic of hole from both sides

Maybe a weight, but I'm thinking it may be a discoidal

The best known type of so-called discoidal stones is circular and has concave depressions on each lateral surface which vary in degree and depth, and sometimes a hole occurs in the center. These are most often explained as game pieces for an ancient Native American game called "
Chungke."

There are dimples on both sides 180 degrees from each other. You can see one in the pic between my thumb and the center hole.

I think you have it right in your title. Grinding stone from a bench grinder. Material looks like aluminum oxide.
