This youth detector is a great starter detector for kids 10 and down. It can pick up a silver dime at 3 inches, half dollar at 5 inches, and a quarter at 4 inches. Big objects can be picked up at a 10-12 inches. Is has an eliminator, a basic version of the discriminate. Overall a decent detector for $50. The coil is also waterproof.
Although no headphone jack, the speaker is clearly audible. It is monotone but you can block out Iron, Nickel, and even Zinc. The deeper the object the quieter the sound so you have to be quite when hunting. Overall the detector gets a C on its grade, not bad compared to others in its field.
Hope you found this review helpful, if you have any questions ask. Thanks!
