Saturday, December the 16. It was a frigid day with snow on the ground and the wind was howling! What better of a day to join some Tnet members to hunt for some Civil War relics!?
It was a great day for everyone! We all walked away with a smile on our faces and I have to thank Deb for the incredible invite to this site!
I started off by getting a feel for my detector once again; it’s been a while since I got “Taz” and “The Chief”out to search for lost history. I actually ended up having the best hunt I've ever had yet! A few 3 ringers, a knapsack hook, some rivets (one with a star), two eagle buttons, what seems to be a trigger, a drawer pull, some brass and copper bits, a small key plate, piece of a toe tap, and my best finds.... an 1840 Seated Half Dime and not even a foot away was an 1876 Seated One Dime!
As I was swinging my coil over the snow-burdened grounds of this beautiful site, “Taz” started to scream at me... was it silver? I kneeled to the ground and wiped the snow from the ground and as I sat there looking down; “Half Dime” was staring right up at me! A surface find! (I love farms that till) I was in somewhat of shock because I couldn’t believe that my coil has passed right over this amazing small piece of silver! I pick it up and start swinging my coil and not even 10 seconds later I get the same signal! Right under the surface pops up the 1876 Seated Dime!
What a great day of hunting with great company! Can't wait to hang out with everyone again!
Enjoy the pics!

Mystery item... some type of charm? It’s smaller than a penny. It has a star on the top, kind of like a Christmas Tree?

Thanks for readin! Happy Hunting and remember; Swing It, Dig it!
