Got a tip from one of my patients at work about a picnic ground from the 30's on up. So, today my buddy & I checked it out. It's about 45 minutes out of Edmonton, at a spot along the North Saskatchewan River. Here is some of the scenery. We checked all possible camping locations and even some cool hoodoos that kids might like to climb. We never did find any hot spots though.

Here's my take for about 3 hours worth of hunting. Two coins! But the hike was spectacular, and a good workout to get back to the car, as we had to do a lot of hiking up a steep road. There was a locked gate at the top of the river valley, denying us any access, so we had to walk.

We headed back to the spot which got a lot of coins yesterday. And, some more decent finds showed up.

Here are my favorites from the second location. Below are the coins. I again got a silver dime and a large cent.

Back to work tomorrow.... :(

I believe so. You get the deep all metal mode for the deep seekers, and nice ID features like Imaging (sizing) which gets most of the coin sized objects.
