Guess it's not hunted out!

Saw this old house and talked to the owner, said it was a stage stop in the 1860's. He said go ahead there have been many before you, good luck. First dig was the 1899 indian head then later the 1935 & 1945 wheaties! I am only half way done. I won't be able to sleep tonight.

Great finds!!

I find it a challenge when I have been told it has been hunted out. Have found some of my best finds where others have hunted!! More than likely luck and perseverance..

Congrats on the producing permission. That IHP is crisp and better than any I have dug. There's got to be more goodies. Keep us posted.

Well, hunted out usually means hunted with older machines that couldn't get some of the targets we can get now...

Sweet ! Some of my favorite words in the English language - "It's hunted out "

Congrats on a great looking IH, there's bound to be silver there.

I have made some if my best finds in areas that were "hunted out". I find that taking a new approach or changing directions always yields more finds. I have been working a soccer field for a couple years now..always come home with coinage

Gotta love those "dug out" sites!

Hunted out usually means they found the big silver and moved on. Those sites will still have silver dimes, as well as old wheaties and IHC's (as you discovered).

looks like they've missed a great IH

good job!

Smokin' Indian Head!

Nice finds, go get em!

I really like that clear green Indian head penny,it stands out above the others

Great looking IH, Congrats!!

There's more that's for sure. One of the last yards we hunted that was hunted hard before us produced a SLQ, Washington silver quarter, a merc, v-nickel, silver bracelet and 3 IH's. Also a handful of wheats and 5 Chinese cash coins.
Spent about a half hour at that yard the other evening and pulled out a 1900 IH, love those hundred out sites.

Hope there's still some silver there waiting for you to save it....

Hunted out? I recently came across a property that is fields now but used to hold a courthouse and county center back in the early 1800's to 1900's. They bought it 50 years ago and took a metal detector out then. When I asked they informed me that it was gonna be a bust because when they tried it they found very little.....50 years ago. I am seeking permission still cause I know it is gonna be a gold mine.....

I love those "Hunted out spots" it makes me swing a little slower and pay more attention . Probally just to prove to myself I can find something that they missed

"Hunted out" = Someone missed something!!!! Nice job!!!:occasion14:
