This is a very nice one, it is oil on a professional board. The tag on the back is from a company from the 1800s. Even though legible, I have not found anything about the artist. Based on the scene, would you say it's a Dutch scene, or maybe French? As always, the greatest of thanks to all of you! Based on the company address, I'd say Pennsylvania. The Pennsylvania Dutch and Germans still thatched roofs in the 1800's. It's an old grist mill.
 

I like the look of it. Old school, Congrats on the find.
 

Cool painting but the real prize is the frame. That is a great period frame and might be worth more than the painting. It does look like some missing pieces but it is still a great one.
