Hair pin?

I’ve dug these before but this is the first one I’ve dug that appears to be complete. I suspect it’s an hair pin but I really don’t know.

The wheat penny is for size.

Didn’t really look like silver in person but I liked the possibility, so I tested it. Unfortunately it is not silver.
