Hammerstone and point combo....

Ok- I'm not an expert on lithics and post items in the hope they they are something. However I have to think that the attached hardstone is something. It was found with a ton of flakes and a few feet away from the point I am showing. I think the stone is quartzite?
Does it look like a chopper or hammerstone? From northern Illinois on prairie once a former Native American site .

It doesn't really look like a hammer-stone to me. But I could be wrong.

Looks like you are looking in the right place though.
 

Interesting. I know the pictures only show so much. My other thought was a chopper as it has a pointed tip. I'll see what other opinions are. Thx for your help.
 

Here are a few better pics....does this help? Really trying to learn what to look for.
It looks banged up as if it was used or possibly sanded. Any help would be appreciated.
I can say that the area was never plowed and the cobble material is limited in the area.

Looks like natural fracturing to me from what I can see in your pictures.
