Decided to hunt a field that I had not been in for a couple of months. Found this handsaw medallion that reads "H Disston & Sons Philada" with a keystone and scales in the center. Also found this ball. I am assuming that it is a rifle ball, although it is about 1/4" shorter than the 3 ringers I have found in the past and has a base that I am not familiar with. It also appears to have been pulled. Thanks for looking and HH.

You found a Williams cleaner bullet without the zinc disk that goes on the bottom.

Absolutely Correct. Congrats, on your pulled Type II Willams Cleaner :icon_thumleft:

If you went to your local hdwr. store or tool supplier today, you may find a Diiston handsaw. And if you did , look at the handle and youll'e find 3 or 4 bolts holding the two pieces of handle together on either side of the blade. that's what that medallion is that you found.
Nice finds.

Williams III are so cool to find, and a pulled one makes it even more so. I am envious!

Thanks for the replies. Had never found a cleaner before this one. I don't think I could have id'd it without everyone's help. Thanks again. :icon_thumright:
