I've waited 20 years for this time. I finally had a problem with a Tesoro so I'd have a reason to return it for repairs 8)

Life is good! :)

I've always wanted to see for myself how awesome they are in customer service but never had a problem with any machine. Darn things don't even get off calibration if you leave them on the roof of the car and drive off. They get scratched up, ya, but they still work fine.

Anyway, the threshold knob broke off my Bandido II uMax. This is so cool!

I think I got a little carried away on my repair list I sent along with it. I told em to make her look like new (except the coil of course).

I'm looking more for the return of the Bandido than I am the delivery of my new Infinium.

Oh happy am I....

Re: HAPPY DAYS! UpDate 1-19

I called Tesoro and was told the Bandido arrived on the 8th and it usually takes 10 days through the whole process (longer for old machines). So, hopefully I'll get it next week sometime.

I think they're extremely busy right now.

So there was nothing wrong with the electronics? It was just a broken knob?
Heck, thats nothing.

You know, I don't think I have ever HEARD of a tesoro being returned for problems with the electronics. Am I wrong?

No, the electronics where fine. Whenever you send a detector into Tesoro they go all over it just to make sure.

One setting that is very important is what's called "calibration." This has to do with such things as ground balance and coil balance adjustments on the circut board or within the coil itself. These can get off with aging and setting them back means a little more depth.

I sent a coil in to Tesoro to get the cable shortened. That was 6 weeks ago. Still haven't received it back yet. However, in that 6 weeks was the Christmas shut down.

Badger, if you like the Silver uMax you're gonna love the B2uMax. Having used the Silver now for a few months, I think I can honestly say the B2uMax goes a tad deeper, probably on account of the manual ground balance feature. It is hot on gold, for sure. My first time out with it I found a huge 14k white gold ring with 7 diamonds on it. I sure miss that machine, but I'm enjoying my Silver. By the way, when I had the B2uMax I fitted it with the 8.5" Widescan coil. That seemed to help with mineralization over the stock coil, both on land and at the beach. Can't wait for you to get it back and start using it to see what you find!

Uh oh, I just read another post of yours. I was under the assumption the B2uMax was new to you, but it appears you already have experience with it. My bad!

Got my coil back today. 7 weeks to the day. Not only did they shorten the cable, but they also checked it out. No charge for any of it of course.

Realistically, although 7 weeks sounds like a long time, I did ship it as cheap as possible ($6.35) so it took a while to get there. It was also over the Christmas shut down, so probably add 2 weeks for that.
